As part of the brand realignment of the internationally active architecture firm KSP Engel, we redesigned and implemented the company’s website. The aim was to present the firm’s architectural projects in a visually stunning and contemporary way, while ensuring fast, intuitive user navigation and conveying KSP Engel’s modern, international orientation.

User experience

In a workshop with KSP Engel and Meiré und Meiré, we worked out the requirements from the perspective of the company and from the perspective of the users. The goal was to understand the needs of different visitor groups—from new customers to existing customers to potential employees—and to incorporate them into the structure.

The website has been structured in a clear and concise manner, with a few intuitive overview pages. Recurring modules and a modular structure guide visitors through the content, facilitate orientation, and create a consistent user experience. Content can be linked logically so that relevant information can be found quickly and navigation of the site remains simple and efficient.

Development

For the technical implementation, we implemented the page templates and modules from the design and set up a content management system based on Kirby. The front end was implemented with UIKit and adapted to KSP Engel’s requirements. Special features of the system include the filterable and sortable project list, which allows architectural projects to be searched by theme, name, year of construction, location, or status, as well as the display of architectural photography in horizontal image galleries that look great on all devices. Thanks to its modular structure, content can be quickly created, linked, and maintained in multiple languages, making the website flexible, scalable, and easy to manage.
