With the publication “From Problem to Application Idea: How Artificial Intelligence Can Support Public Benefit Organizations,” we created an interactive publication on behalf of the Bertelsmann Foundation that supports public benefit organizations in the user-centered development of AI projects.

Blue folder icons, Post-its, and text \
Page titled “Contents” with colorful folder icons and topics: step-by-step instructions, tech exploration, application ideas, methods manual, collaboration with tech companies, navigation bar on the left
Page with foreword text on artificial intelligence and social relevance, navigation bar on the left
Page with introductory text on tech exploration, colored folder icons with labels for step-by-step instructions, tech exploration, application ideas, methodology manual, and collaboration with tech companies, navigation bar on the left
Page with heading “Procedure and methods,” text about conducting independent tech exploration, photo of person with papers covering their face at the bottom, navigation bar on the left

The visual concept is based on digital collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro: the content appears as a dynamic interface in which readers can navigate through interactive, modular chapters and access further information via links.

In terms of design, the publication is colorful and engaging: elements from digital tools and analog workshop methods—Post-its, highlighted text passages, handwritten notes, and modular areas—create a familiar, low-threshold impression and emphasize the practical, methodical character.
